Ode to Friends.

Author C.S. Lewis once said: "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You, too? Thought I was the only one."

Haha, I love that quote. It can describe some of my friendships with some people; how we're similar in some ways, but different in others, which make us such good friends. Speaking of friends, this is an Ode to Friends. For ones that are unfamiliar to it (unlike Carrie who spread the idea onto meee! <-- acknowledgment, happy?), it's pretty much when I list qualities about my best friends that I hope one day, I will possess this undefinable, "words can't express" quality that just helps my life so much. Composing this list is.. just insightful and so inspirational. My friends rock so much..

I decided to post my Top 20 friends, in no particular order. If you want, try to guess who you are.. :) And without further ado!

ODE TO FRIENDS.
1. patience. support. philosophy. companionship. insight. you're always there for me, and you always listen to my problems, no matter how big or how small they are; and yet, you always have the best advice. you can find a good way out of any tunnel, and i know we'll have a lasting friendship. :)
2. knowledge. appreciation. whimsicality. purity. you just make me appreciate the good things in life when i'm down and troubled. you've always been there for me, in the bad times and we've had a lot of good times. a lot.
3. care freeness. cheerfulness. happiness. naivety. you're just so happy and although i don't always show it, when you try to cheer me up, it always does. and when you don't understand something, it's always too cute.
4. reliability. warmness. remembrance. acceptance. you are just so warm, so happy, and you always notice what's wrong even if i do a slight frown. you are a great friend, a great person, i can't wait to spend more time with you in the future.
5. consistency. friendliness. laughter. you're just too cute, and you've always been on my side, no matter what's happened. when you don't have a smile on your face, it's so easy to get that back on you; and it always gets one back on mine.
6. hilarity. gregariousness. loyalty. you can always put a smile on my face, and you always tend to come to me when you need help, and you always accept it with such willingness.
7. trustworthiness. simplicity. constancy. you're there all the time. you're a great friend, and i can always count on you for the most random of times and things.
8. willingness to learn. willingness to teach. creativity. you have quite the talent, yet you don't acknowledge it. if i don't understand something, you will at least try to help me comprehend.
9. understanding. 'forgive-and-forget.' respect. uniqueness. work ethic. you always put your soul in what you do, and you still have time to help me out and talk to me about life. you have the most incredible thoughts, and you always make me see things on the other side of the prism.
10. persistence. just "doing it." not being afraid to say what's on your mind. you're brave, you just do what you want as long as you believe in it; and i respect that. you'll tell me if i have a crappy haircut, but i know you're saying it to help me out.
11. naivety. innocence. dedication. being cute, haha. you can always mend a conversation that i've made awkward, and if not, you make it even more awkward so it's less uncomfortable. you're a great friend.
12. spontaneity. dedication. natural talent. jollity. i must say you are one of the most talented people i know, and you don't get a big head about it. you are truly amazing.
13. logic. politeness. seriousness. empathy. you're one of the smartest people i know and you've helped me too much; i owe you a lot.
14. perkiness. loudness. courage. you're just so happy all the time, and that's great. happiness spreads faster than sadness.
15. intensity. likability. true-heartedness. imagination. when you have problems, you come to me, and when i have problems, i come to you. you're truly an amazing soul.
16. musicality. being "all-around." confidence. you're extremely talented in every core area. i hope that one day i can be as good as you are at what you do.
17. protection. elegance. joy. style. short words, but they all mean a lot -- just like you mean to me.
18. integrity. light-heartedness. i can't ever picture you without a smile on your face.
19. not being fazed by minor details. wit. quickness. sharpness. you're insanely smart, and it's easy to joke around with you, while at the same time, your jokes can help cheer me up when i am down.
20. precision. charm. helpfulness. i think i can learn a lot from you and i know that you will help me in the future; i hope we can become better friends.

Not only was that hard to pick qualities just to narrow it down to all of your AMAZING QUALITIES, but .. it was a great moment. A moment where I got to realize how amazing each of you are, as individuals. I hope we all get closer in the future. :]
