mulan

wow, 200th post. wow.

i watched mulan on youtube today (youtube search "mulan" -- all of it's there, great quality) and i teared up a few times. it was unbelievable rewatching -- seeing disney movies a second time is definitely something different when you're "grown up" and older.

it's interesting how we've all changed our perspectives.

but in the end, mulan's story still made me laugh, cry, and feel. it's such a powerful story -- and represents the theme of how everyone should be treated the same. regardless of race, or gender, or age..

fa mulan, without you, who knows where i'd be.. and what my culture would be like. or even if i'd have one. all chinese people (as us taiwanese diverted off from the original chinese) truly do respect you. you kept us all alive...

true to your heart.. you must stay true to your heart!
^ this song was by 98 degrees ft. stevie wonder. anyone remember 98 degrees? MY GOODNESS. :) it was such a smile.

mulan's still an A+ in my book. with hilarious lines like "you should stay forever!" and mushu being amazing, with the climactic scenes, the emotional ones, the lea solana version of "reflection," and all the music in general -- ending with "you don't meet a girl like that every dynasty" this is still one of disney's best. and one of the best.

"the blossom that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful of all."
